SPOT

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 14, 2026

About SPOT: SPOT is a community for speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists to share ideas and connect. SPOT is not a patient medical-record system.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use SPOT, information may include your email address, authentication credentials managed by our authentication provider, profile details (including your selected profession and any optional profile information), posts, comments, reactions, saved content, messages, images or videos you upload, reports you submit, and settings or preferences.

We may also process technical information needed to operate and protect the service, such as authentication sessions, error information, timestamps, and security-related activity. We do not ask you to upload patient records.

2. How we use information

We use this information to create and secure accounts; display profiles and community content; deliver messages and notifications; operate moderation and abuse-reporting features; troubleshoot problems; and improve the reliability and safety of SPOT.

3. Who can see your content

Posts and comments intended for the community may be visible to other users and, where guest access is enabled, to visitors without an account. Content you share through a post link may be accessible to anyone with that link. Messages are intended for their conversation participants, subject to safety, legal, and service-operation needs. Do not post information you expect to remain confidential in a public discussion.

4. Service providers

SPOT uses Supabase for backend services such as authentication, databases, and file storage. Service providers process information to help us run the app, subject to their applicable terms and safeguards. We may use additional providers as the service evolves; this policy should be updated when those services are introduced.

5. Patient privacy and sensitive information

Do not upload or disclose patient-identifying information, medical records, or protected health information (PHI) on SPOT. Remove names, faces, dates, record numbers, and other identifying details from clinical examples. A case description can still identify a patient even without a name. You are responsible for following your employer's policies and applicable professional and privacy obligations. SPOT is not presented as a HIPAA-compliant patient-information platform.

6. Account deletion and retention

You can request account deletion from the app's account settings. Deleting an account is designed to remove its authentication account, profile, and associated content through the deletion process. Certain information may remain temporarily in backups or logs, or be retained when required for security, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Content copied or shared by other users outside SPOT may not be recoverable or removable by SPOT.

7. Security

We use access controls and other safeguards intended to protect account information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Use a strong password and avoid sharing confidential information through the app.

8. Children's privacy

SPOT is intended for adults and therapy professionals, not children. We do not intentionally offer the service to children.

9. Your choices

You can edit available profile information and manage certain settings within SPOT. You may delete your account through the app. For questions about your information, use the contact details below.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SPOT's features and practices change. The current version will be posted here with a revised effective date.
